So you think you can already surf?
We don't just teach novices at the Surf Academy, we are fully accredited to train you to become a BSA Qualified Surf Instructor.

Can I just turn up or do I need to book?
It is absolutely vital to book. Each course has a limited number of places due to the strict instructor/student ratios. We know that restricting the number of participants gives a better level of instruction.

What do I need to bring?
The cost of the course includes use of a wetsuit and surfboard. You will need to bring a towel, some swimwear to wear under your wetsuit and it's a good idea to bring a sweatshirt to keep warm after your session. Plus it's not a bad idea to wear suncream & a smile.

What happens if the surf gets too rough?
We constantly monitor the weather and surf forecasts along with liasing with beach rescue and the local coastguard. We would not continue with the lesson if we thought it was too rough.

Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
All beginners courses take place in waist deep water so you do not need to be an excellent swimmer. The instructor will work with each individual so they can enjoy it.
